About Session

As woodworkers gain experience, many shop decisions no longer have one obvious “correct” answer. The challenge becomes understanding the situation, weighing the options and deciding which trade-offs actually matter.

Join Matthew Walsh of Rosewood Studio for a practical discussion about how woodworking judgement develops. Through familiar shop problems, Matthew will explore how we diagnose what went wrong, decide how accurate something really needs to be, determine whether to repair or remake a part, and choose among several perfectly valid approaches.

Learn how to ask better questions, use mistakes as useful information and make more confident decisions when there is no recipe to follow.
